Who Spiritually Are Nadab And Abihu?

Thank you for pointing out the scripture below. I had not noticed that King David is credited with having divided the Levites into twenty-four courses to carry out the functions of the tabernacle, and of course, Solomon continued those courses in the temple.

1Ch 23:2  And he gathered together all the princes of Israel, with the priests and the Levites.
1Ch 23:3  Now the Levites were numbered from the age of thirty years and upward: and their number by their polls, man by man, was thirty and eight thousand.
1Ch 23:4  Of which, twenty and four thousand were to set forward the work of the house of the LORD; and six thousand [were] officers and judges:
1Ch 23:5  Moreover four thousand [were] porters; and four thousand praised the LORD with the instruments which I made, [said David], to praise [therewith].
1Ch 23:6  And David divided them into courses among the sons of Levi, [namely], Gershon, Kohath, and Merari.

1Ch 23:27  For by the last words of David the Levites [were] numbered from twenty years old and above:
1Ch 23:28  Because their office [was] to wait on the sons of Aaron for the service of the house of the LORD, in the courts, and in the chambers, and in the purifying of all holy things, and the work of the service of the house of God;
So there were twenty four thousand Levites serving the house of Aaron, which consisted of twenty four courses of priests.

1Ch 24:1  Now [these are] the divisions of the sons of Aaron. The sons of Aaron; Nadab, and Abihu, Eleazar, and Ithamar.
1Ch 24:2  But Nadab and Abihu died before their father, and had no children: therefore Eleazar and Ithamar executed the priest's office.
1Ch 24:3  And David distributed them, both Zadok of the sons of Eleazar, and Ahimelech of the sons of Ithamar, according to their offices in their service.
1Ch 24:4  And there were more chief men found of the sons of Eleazar than of the sons of Ithamar; and thus were they divided. Among the sons of Eleazar there were sixteen chief men of the house of their fathers, and eight among the sons of Ithamar according to the house of their fathers.
1Ch 24:5  Thus were they divided by lot, one sort with another; for the governors of the sanctuary, and governors of the house of God, were of the sons of Eleazar, and of the sons of Ithamar.
1Ch 24:6  And Shemaiah the son of Nethaneel the scribe, one of the Levites, wrote them before the king, and the princes, and Zadok the priest, and Ahimelech the son of Abiathar, and before the chief of the fathers of the priests and Levites: one principal household being taken for Eleazar, and one taken for Ithamar.
1Ch 24:7  Now the first lot came forth to Jehoiarib, the second to Jedaiah,
1Ch 24:8  The third to Harim, the fourth to Seorim,
1Ch 24:9  The fifth to Malchijah, the sixth to Mijamin,
1Ch 24:10  The seventh to Hakkoz, the eighth to Abijah,
1Ch 24:11  The ninth to Jeshua, the tenth to Shecaniah,
1Ch 24:12  The eleventh to Eliashib, the twelfth to Jakim,
1Ch 24:13  The thirteenth to Huppah, the fourteenth to Jeshebeab,
1Ch 24:14  The fifteenth to Bilgah, the sixteenth to Immer,
1Ch 24:15  The seventeenth to Hezir, the eighteenth to Aphses,
1Ch 24:16  The nineteenth to Pethahiah, the twentieth to Jehezekel,
1Ch 24:17  The one and twentieth to Jachin, the two and twentieth to Gamul,
1Ch 24:18  The three and twentieth to Delaiah, the four and twentieth to Maaziah.
1Ch 24:19  These were the orderings of them in their service to come into the house of the LORD, according to their manner, under Aaron their father, as the LORD God of Israel had commanded him.
If you haven't yet done so please take the time to listen to and read the study notes on The Camp, The Temple and The Priesthood. In Part Two, entitled Who Are The Levites, you will see the scriptures which reveal that the Levites who were not sons of Aaron, typify in God's Word, those who serve the priests but cannot enter into the presence of God or so much as touch any of the holy things of the tabernacle.

All of these things are types of all of us at any given stage of our walk. But Levi and Simeon are brothers who together typify the cruelty of Babylon in us all at that time in our walk.

Gen 49:5  Simeon and Levi are brethren; instruments of cruelty are in their habitations.
Gen 49:6  O my soul, come not thou into their secret; unto their assembly, mine honour, be not thou united : for in their anger they slew a man, and in their selfwill they digged down a wall.
Gen 49:7  Cursed be their anger, for it was fierce; and their wrath, for it was cruel: I will divide them in Jacob, and scatter them in Israel.
I have personally hated those who taught against eternal hell fire, and I have also seen Paul Crouch and Benny Hinn proudly boasting that they had searched God's Word looking for a scripture which would justify their desire to physically take the lives of those who dared to expose their heresies. Both men want "a holy ghost machine gun" to physically destroy their enemies.

These men may be an exaggeration of these attitudes, but such is the attitude of every denominational branch of Babylon. That is the very basis of saying "I am of Paul, or I am of Apollos," or I am a Catholic or I am a Protestant. It is this carnal desire to separate from God's Word and follow a man who we can physically see that separates a priest from a Levite.

The Levites were given to the priests as servants, and to this very day that is what Babylon does. It is bringing millions to Christ, but they are in Christ as "the son of the bondwoman."

Gal 4:1  Now I say, [That] the heir, as long as he is a child, differeth nothing from a servant, though he be lord of all;
Gal 4:2  But is under tutors and governors until the time appointed of the father.
Gal 4:3  Even so we, when we were children, were in bondage under the elements of the world:
Gal 4:4  But when the fulness of the time was come, God sent forth his Son, made of a woman, made under the law,
Gal 4:5  To redeem them that were under the law, that we might receive the adoption of sons. 
These verses demonstrate that we all "live by every word that proceeds out of the mouth of God. We are all the son of the bondwoman "until the time appointed of the Father," and "were in bondage under the elements of the world."

I seem to quote these two verses in many of my e-mails lately, but they are just that powerful when it comes to demonstrating the Truth that we must all "live by every word that proceeds out of the mouth of God," and we must all "keep the things which are written therein."
Eph 2:2  Wherein in time past ye walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that now worketh in the children of disobedience:
Eph 2:3  Among whom also we all had our conversation in times past in the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind; and were by nature the children of wrath, even as others.
It is those who are forgiven much who love most and until we come to see ourselves as "chief or sinners... guilty of the blood of all the prophets from Abel to Zacharias," we do not see or understand that Christ was "delivered up through our offenses."
Luk 7:40  And Jesus answering said unto him, Simon, I have somewhat to say unto thee. And he saith, Master, say on.
Luk 7:41  There was a certain creditor which had two debtors: the one owed five hundred pence, and the other fifty.
Luk 7:42  And when they had nothing to pay, he frankly forgave them both. Tell me therefore, which of them will love him most?
Luk 7:43  Simon answered and said, I suppose that [he], to whom he forgave most. And he said unto him, Thou hast rightly judged.
Luk 7:44  And he turned to the woman, and said unto Simon, Seest thou this woman? I entered into thine house, thou gavest me no water for my feet: but she hath washed my feet with tears, and wiped [them] with the hairs of her head.
Luk 7:45  Thou gavest me no kiss: but this woman since the time I came in hath not ceased to kiss my feet.
Luk 7:46  My head with oil thou didst not anoint: but this woman hath anointed my feet with ointment.
Luk 7:47  Wherefore I say unto thee, Her sins, which are many, are forgiven; for she loved much: but to whom little is forgiven, [the same] loveth little.
Luk 7:48  And he said unto her, Thy sins are forgiven.
There will always be those who will accuse us of "encouraging people to sin," but those who do so are always the worst offenders inasmuch as they, like Simon here in this story, could never see themselves as being guilty of the blood of all the prophets or see themselves as chief of sinners, having delivered Christ Himself up to crucifixion.

I could not agree more, and I cannot tell you how encouraging it is to see that you are applying these words inwardly, instead of looking down on all the publicans in Babylon. We have all been that Pharisee who looked down on the publican. After all those are "words that proceeded out of the mouth of God," and we will all "live by every word."
