Is "The Son Of Man" A Worm?
Hi V____.Hi Mike,
I want to thank you and praise God for all the wisdom that He shows us through you. May He give you the strength to continue to feed His sheep.
I don't know if you remember, but with my first letter to you (Just How Christ-Centric Is Scripture?), I asked you who the worm Jacob is of Isaiah 41:14 and here's part of your response:
So simply stated, the principle Christ revealed to His disciples when He "opened their understanding that they might understand the scriptures," is that anything written in the law or the prophets or the Psalms concerning the patriarchs or the prophets or the kings or the nation of Israel itself, is actually being spoken concerning Christ and His Christ.
Inasmuch as all the verses we have demonstrated above concerning Christ and His Christ, this verse is certainly no different. If the first Adam, typifies Christ, why would not Jacob do the same? Jacob was one of the 'patriarchs.' When the scriptures speak of the patriarchs they are speaking of Christ. This principle goes all the way back to Adam himself
You quoted Rom 5:14, Gal 3:29, Gal 4:28, Isa 41:8 – 13 before you concluded that the worm Jacob is actually referring to God's elect.
And in the The Spiritual Significance Of The Color Red - Part 2, you have these:
Look at how it is used by King David:
Psa 22:6 But I am a worm [tola - red grub], and no man; a reproach of men, and despised of the people.
Here is a "man after God's own heart, the man who is to replace God's rejected anointed King Saul, who recognizes that he is nothing more than a little red grub "despised of the people."
This should remind us all of another inwardly applied scripture:
1Ti 1:15 This is a faithful saying, and worthy of all acceptation, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners; of whom I am chief.
Above you have demonstrated that Isa 41:14 and Psa 22:6 refers to God's elect, so I would like to submit to you these revelations that I have been given for your consideration:
Isa 41:14 Fear not, thou worm Jacob, and ye men of Israel ; I will help thee, saith the LORD, and thy redeemer, the Holy One of Israel.
I agree that the worm Jacob is "the seed of Abraham my friend":
Isa 41:8 But thou, Israel , art my servant, Jacob whom I have chosen, the seed of Abraham my friend.
And who is this seed primarily refers to?
Gal 3:16 Now to Abraham and his seed were the promises made. He saith not, And to seeds, as of many; but as of one, And to thy seed, which is Christ.
Now regarding Psalms 22:6:
Psa 22:6 But I am a worm, and no man; a reproach of men, and despised of the people.
Let's examine the following verses:
Psa 22:7 All they that see me laugh me to scorn: they shoot out the lip, they shake the head, saying,
Psa 22:8 He trusted on the LORD that he would deliver him: let him deliver him, seeing he delighted in him.
These verses reminds me of:
Mat 27:42 He saved others; himself he cannot save. If he be the King of Israel, let him now come down from the cross, and we will believe him.
Mat 27:43 He trusted in God; let him deliver him now, if he will have him: for he said, I am the Son of God.
Later on the same chapter of Psalms:
Psa 22:18 They part my garments among them, and cast lots upon my vesture.
This verse is directly referred to in the gospels:
Mat 27:35 And they crucified him, and parted his garments, casting lots: that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the prophet, They parted my garments among them, and upon my vesture did they cast lots.
Joh 19:24 They said therefore among themselves, Let us not rend it, but cast lots for it, whose it shall be: that the scripture might be fulfilled, which saith, They parted my raiment among them, and for my vesture they did cast lots. These things therefore the soldiers did.
Also this:
Job 25:6 How much less man, that is a worm? and the son of man, which is a worm?
Lastly I think this foreshadows the fig tree withering away in Matthew 21:
Jon 4:7 But God prepared a worm when the morning rose the next day, and it smote the gourd that it withered.
I hope that you can add on these brother, or give some corrections if you see a need. I also would like to ask you to do a study on the word worm in Scriptures.
Your brother in Christ,

That is wonderful, and I would certainly would tell you if I thought you were mistaken in any verse you have dealt with here, but I agree with every word you have written simply because you have remained faithful to this verse of scripture:
Rev 1:8 I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the ending, saith the Lord, which is, and which was, and which is to come, the Almighty.
Act 17:28 For in him we live, and move, and have our being; as certain also of your own poets have said, For we are also his offspring.
Psa 22:30 A seed shall serve him; it shall be accounted to the Lord for a generation.
Isa 9:6 For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.
Isa 45:7 I form the light, and create darkness: I make peace, and create evil: I the LORD do all these things. So thank you for taking the time to share with me the revelation of Jesus Christ God has given to you. It is an endless and unlimited revelation that will continue for a life time in these clay vessels.
2Co 5:18 And all things are of God, who hath reconciled us to himself by Jesus Christ, and hath given to us the ministry of reconciliation;
I have just begun a series on the book of Revelation so it will be awhile before I will be doing anything else, but I agree with you that we need to understand that we are all, in this flesh, "the son of man... a red worm."
It is a joy to see your growth in the revelation of Jesus Christ.
Your brother in the Christ,
Mike
